Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, May 30-June 4, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Herbert Alsandor Jr. and Annie Alsandor of 3245 Ledet St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Alsandors will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-126.

  • Debra Beckett of 5565 Bonnie Lee Lane in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Beckett will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A190-130.

  • Carlos Cardenas alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cardenas will be represented by Eric Paul Edwardson of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-156.

  • Wesley and Loicy Jones of 5210 Terrace Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Jones will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-127.
