Intersection collision results in suit

Vidor resident Michael Halsell has filed suit against Beaumont local Amber Coe, alleging she struck his vehicle while stopped at an intersection.

The suit was filed June 22 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Sept. 27, 2009, Halsell was stopped at the intersection of 11th Street and Hollywood in Beaumont when Coe struck his vehicle.

"Due to the defendant's negligence and the severe impact of the vehicles, property damage and personal injury resulted," the suit states.

The plaintiff claims the defendant negligently failed to control her speed and keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney David LaRue of Loncar & Associates represents the plaintiff.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
