A wholesale outlet claims a Murphy resident conned it into transferring money after promising to allow it to exclusively sell products, then failed to follow through with its promises.
Starco Impex, doing business as Wholesale Outlet, filed a lawsuit June 28 in Jefferson County District Court against Jacked Up and Joseph Schmitz.
Starco alleges Schmitz convinced it to wire a "substantial amount of funds" in return for a large order that it could sell exclusively.
However, Jacked Up and Schmitz have failed to take any further actions after receiving the money, according to the complaint. The defendants have also failed to return Starco's money, the suit states.
In its complaint, Starco seeks actual damages, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
John Werner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing it.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
