Man's armed sucked up by blower, manufacturer sued

After having his arm sucked up by a blower, Jonathan Villerreal has filed suit against the machine's manufacturer, W.W. Granger Inc.

The suit was filed July 13 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 22, 2010, Villerreal, an Express Service employee working at WorldWide Sorbent Product's Port Arthur premises, was operating a blower when it suddenly "sucked his right arm into the machine."

In his suit, Villerreal alleges the blower was defective and permanently injured his dominant right arm.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Jill S. Chatelain of McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele and Chatelain in Port Arthur will be representing him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. B190-494
