Supercuts stylist claims towel cabinet fell on her

Beaumont resident Felicia Ceaser has filed suit against her employer, Supercuts, and Handy Husband, the installers of a cabinet, which she claims fell on her while retrieving a towel.

The suit was filed July 22 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Aug. 19, 2010, Ceaser was in the course and scope of her employment with Supercuts. She was retrieving a towel from a cabinet when it fell and landed on top of her.

The suit faults Supercuts for negligently failing to provide a safe workplace and also blames Handy Husband for negligently installing the cabinet.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Tom Oxford of the Waldman Smallwood law firm represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
