A total of eight new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, July 25-29, 2011.
The following complaints were filed:
Call to Destiny International of 3770 Park Plaza Circle in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of its claim for roof and water damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Call to Destiny will be represented by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B1190-602.
Alejandro Lopez and Luis Magana of 5016 Lewis Drive in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for contents, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Jorge and Azucena Nieves of 6131 Linda Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Edmund and Mary Richard, doing business as Richard's Cafe, of 3339 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Richard Rideau III and Celia N. Rideau of 5060 Bruce Drive in Beaumont allege Delta Lloyds Insurance Company of Houston denied a portion of their claims for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Bridgette and Vernon Simon of 2220 Cashmere in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
