I-10 head-on collision results in litigation

While towing their car, Maxmilliano and Graciela Vasquez allege Beaumont resident Alan Romero struck them head on.

They filed suit against Romero on Aug. 11 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 4, 2009, the Vasquezes were traveling west on Interstate 10 when Romero allegedly failed to maintain control of his vehicle and struck them head on.

The crash resulted in injuries to both men and damage to their vehicle and the vehicle they were towing.

The suit further alleges Romero negligently failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Robert Cruz represents them.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. D190-661
