Joanita Duplechan has filed suit against fellow Port Arthur resident Cherrisa Pham, who allegedly rear-ended her two years ago.
The suit was filed Aug. 16 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 3, 2009, Duplechan was traveling on State Highway 347 in Port Arthur when Pham slammed into the rear of her vehicle.
The suit accuses Pham of negligently failing to control her rate of speed and failing to keep a proper lookout.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents her.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
