Man sues over injury from Mardi Gras tent

Area resident Frederick Jones has filed suit against Mardi Gras Southeast Texas and AAA Rentals, alleging he was injured when a Mardi Gras tent fell on him during the March festival.

The suit was filed Aug. 29 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on March 5 Jones was attending the Mardi Gras in Port Arthur when a tent leased by the defendants fell on him.

In his suit, Jones alleges the defendants were responsible for the condition of the tent and should have made sure it was safe.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Trenton Bond of Bond Portner represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
