Mother claims couple injured daughter

On behalf of her minor daughter, Minh Thi Lee has filed suit against Alisha and Jonathan Benitez.

The personal injury suit was filed Aug. 30 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 15 the Benitezs allegedly harmed the minor and caused the death of her little sister. The suit does not state how or where the incident occurred, only that the minor was babysitting her little sister at the time.

The plaintiffs are suing for their mental and emotional damages.

Beaumont attorney Theodore Johns Jr. represents them.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
