Vidor couple sued by bank over mobile home payments

A bank claims two Vidor residents have failed to make six monthly payments toward the purchase of their manufactured home.

Community Bank of Texas filed a lawsuit Aug. 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Rodney and Shannon Block.

In its complaint, Community Bank claims the Blocks took out a loan on March 29, 2004, for $30,240 for the purchase of a Vidor Mobile Home.

Eventually, the loan was assigned to Community Bank, according to the complaint.

However, since then, the Blocks have failed to make six required monthly payments of $361.57 and have failed to pay property taxes for 2007, 2009 and 2010, the suit states.

Although Community Bank of Texas matured the loan and demanded money from the Blocks, the couple has failed to repay the bank, the complaint says.

In addition to the money it says the Blocks owe it, Community Bank seeks pre-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs, post-judgment interest, establishment of the foreclosure lien against the property and other relief the court deems just.

April C. Lindsay of Lindsay, Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont will be representing it.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
