Port Arthur residents sued over late car payments

A bank has filed suit against the Port Arthur owners of a vehicle, alleging they have failed to make timely car payments to the bank.

Ally Financial claims it lent defendants Jacques Ramirez and Frank E. Ramirez $34,359.02 for the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado they purchased on Nov. 18, 2010.

However, the Ramirezes have stopped making their monthly payments and owe Ally $34,025.79, according to the complaint filed Oct. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

Ally alleges breach of contract against the defendants.

In addition to the money it says it is owed, Ally is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just.

Kimberly A. Hartmann and Rick W. Hightower of Beasley, Hightower and Hartmann in Dallas will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
