A Port Arthur man claims he sustained neck, shoulder, back, left arm, elbow, knee and leg injuries after a driver failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and crashed into his vehicle.
Roberto Morgan filed a lawsuit Oct. 6 in Jefferson County District Court against Amy and Michael Landry.
In his complaint, Morgan alleges he was driving on 32nd Street when Amy Landry, who was driving a vehicle owned and insured by Michael Landry, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck his vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Morgan incurred medical costs, lost his earnings and his earning capacity and sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint.
Morgan blames Amy Landry for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes, failed to stop or yield at an intersection to avoid a collision and failed to yield the right-of-way.
In his complaint, Morgan seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont will be representing him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court has been assigned to the case.
