Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County Courts

A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Oct. 31-Nov. 4, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Raymond and Julianna Clark of 8532 Greenbriar Lane in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Clarks will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E191-295.

  • Martin and Hilary Flood of 2253 Robinhood Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Floods will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-293.

  • Columbus Rideau of 1401 Sixth St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of his claim for roof and water damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Rideau will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-294.

  • Frederich Smith of 324 East Eighth St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of his claim for roof and water damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Smith will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-292.
