Stop sign collision results in suit

Silsbee resident Kelly Hamilton has filed suit against Beaumont local Sondra Schwaab for allegedly rear-ending her at a stop sign.

The suit was filed Nov. 17 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 25, 2010, Hamilton was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of the Interstate 10 feeder road and Lucas Drive in Beaumont when Schwaab rear-ended her.

The suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to stop and keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Brett Thomas of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
