Employee sues Conn's after injury

Juhon

Area resident Roy Reid has filed suit against Conn's Appliances for an injury he received while working in the loading docks.

The suit was filed Nov. 18 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 3, 2010, Reid was in the course and scope of his employment with Conn's when he was injured while working in the loading docks.

The suit states that the injury was due to "stuck dock plates" but does not state how the injury occurred.

Reid alleges Conn's was aware of the state of disrepair of the dock plates prior to his injury.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
