Shoppers sue over Wal-Mart fender bender

While stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk, two women and minor child were rear-ended by Beaumont resident Aaron Morgan.

On Nov. 28 Jeanie Holland, Amber West and minor Beaux West filed suit against Morgan in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 18, 2011, the plaintiffs were stopped at the pedestrian crosswalk in the parking lot of the Beaumont Wal-Mart when Morgan allegedly failed to control his speed and rear-ended the vehicle.

The suit also accuses Morgan of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents them.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
