Randall Harvey is suing the Port Arthur Independent School District, alleging a district employee backed into his vehicle nearly two years ago.
The suit was filed Nov. 30 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 19, 2010, Johnny Quebedeaux, a driver for the district, was backing out from a private drive in Groves when he "slammed into plaintiff."
The suit does not state what Quebedeaux was driving at the time of incident.
The suit asserts that the district waives sovereign immunity since Harvey's injuries were caused by PAISD.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
