Country club employees claim termination due to complaint about sexual harassment

MARSHALL - Three country club employees claim they were terminated from their jobs after complaining about pervasive sexual harassment.

Wendi Molinar, Jeremy Molinar and Cody Molinar filed a lawsuit against Mountain Valley Country Club Inc. on Jan. 9 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

According to the lawsuit, Wendi Molinar, the mother of plaintiffs Jeremy and Cody, was subjected to severe or pervasive sexual harassment while employed by the defendant as an event coordinator. Her sons Jeremy and Cody state they were also subjected to sexual harassment by their female supervisor while employed by the defendant as a cook and dishwasher.

The employees claim they met with the board of directors and complained about the sexual harassment. A couple days later, they were allegedly told to either drop or resolve their complaints or not come back to work.

The suit states Wendi Molinar was terminated on July 24, for "inciting a conflict with employees."

The plaintiffs argue that the defendant violated their civil rights regarding sexual harassment and retaliation

The former employees are asking for an award of loss of back pay, loss of front pay, inconvenience, mental anguish, mental pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of self-esteem and career advancement, attorney's fees, interest and court costs.

The plaintiffs are represented by Fort Worth attorney Jamshyd M. Zadeh.

A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
