Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County Courts

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Jan. 30-Feb. 3.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Glenn and Yoshi Alexander of 3801 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur, 2700 Procter St. in Port Arthur and 3326 Sixth St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Alexanders are represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: A191-841.

  • San Juana de la Cruz of 2510 65th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. De la Cruz will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E191-840.

  • Hilton Deroun of 1835 Seventh St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Deroun will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Clare Pace of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-815.
