Port Arthur local Tanya Bryant is seeking exemplary damages from Orange resident Stephen Granger for injuries she received when he ran a red light and struck her vehicle.

The suit was filed Feb. 23 in Jefferson County District Court and also names Glenda Granger as a defendant.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 26, 2011, Bryant was traveling on West Lucas in Beaumont when Stephen negligently disregarded a red light and struck her vehicle, injuring her neck and back.

Glenda, the owner of the vehicle, is faulted with negligent entrustment, according to the lawsuit.

The suit further accuses Stephen of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and yield the right of way.

On top of exemplary damages, the plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents her.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
