Man claims permanent injuries from wreck

A Galveston County man claims he sustained various permanent injuries after a driver failed to yield the right-of-way and struck his vehicle.

Claude S. Barrow filed a lawsuit March 26 in Jefferson County District Court against James Zenos Jr.

In his complaint, Barrow alleges a collision occurred on Feb. 17, 2011. He does not state where or how the collision happened.

Because of the accident, Barrow experienced physical pain and mental suffering, incurred medical costs and lost his earnings and his earning capacity, according to the complaint. He also experienced physical impairment, physical disfigurement and emotional distress, the suit states.

Barrow blames Zenos for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control and failed to timely apply his brakes.

In his complaint, Barrow seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

John Werner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
