A Beaumont man has filed a petition to investigate a potential lawsuit in an attempt to find the driver of a truck who he claims struck his vehicle.
Brandon Sonn claims he was driving on Interstate 10 in Beaumont when a truck hauling new Toyota vehicles struck Sonn's car on March 25, 2012.
"Petitioner alleges he was forced off of the roadway which was a proximate cause of injuries to Petitioner," the suit filed April 4 in Jefferson County District Court states.
According to the petition, the driver of the truck fled the scene of the accident.
In his petition, Sonn requests permission for any pre-suit discovery required to file a future lawsuit.
He will be represented by Tommy L. Yates of Moore Landrey in Beaumont.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
