Two car wrecks lead to one suit filed

Trevin Williamson is suing Orange County residents Elijah Davis and Michael Oliver, alleging that Davis struck his vehicle when he slowed down because of a car wreck.

The suit was filed May 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on March 11 Williamson and Davis were both traveling south on the Eastex Freeway when Williamson slowed down because of a wreck ahead of him. Davis, driving a vehicle owned by Oliver, failed to control his speed and rear-ended Williamson.

Davis is accused of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout, and Oliver is faulted with negligent entrustment.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Michael Lindsay of Lindsay, Lindsay & Parsons represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. A192-437
