Testimony sought in possible benzene suit against ExxonMobil

Parks

Fort Davis resident Saundra Lee has filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of James Lee, who suffers from a benzene-related disease.

The petition was filed June 13 in Jefferson County District Court. The anticipated defendant in the pending suit is ExxonMobil.

The petition alleges James Lee was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which "is expected to progress."

The substance of testimony sought is his employment and benzene exposure history at the Mobil Oil plant in Beaumont.

The petition requests the court authorize his deposition.

Provost Umphrey attorney D'Juana Parks of Beaumont represents the plaintiff.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
