Two couples are in litigation over the sale of a Port Neches property.
Brian and Lisa Wright filed suit against Izi and Joy Obokhare on Aug. 24 in Jefferson County District Court, alleging the defendants breached their contract.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs entered into a contract with the defendants to sell a piece of property located at 523 Roanoke, Port Neches.
“However, instead of complying with the contract, defendants breached the contract by failing to purchase the property,” the suit states. “Plaintiffs have performed all conditions precedent to the performance of defendants obligations under the contract…”
The plaintiffs are seeking a judgment in an amount in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court.
As a result of the defendants conduct, the plaintiffs were required to hire an attorney, entitling them to recover attorney’s fees.
Attorney Chris Portner of the Beaumont law firm Portner Bond represents them.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
