A California corporation alleges one of its debtors has failed to make more than $30,000 worth of promised payments.

Consumer Portfolio Services filed a lawsuit Sept. 17 in Jefferson County District Court against Jacqueline M. Pete.

In its complaint, Consumer Portfolio alleges it entered into a retail installment sale contract with Pete. Under the terms of the contract, Pete agreed to make monthly payments of $480.83, according to the complaint.

However, Pete has failed to make the payments as promised, the suit states.

“As of August 28, 2012, there remains due and owing under the contract the sum of approximately $30,934.56,” the complaint says.

In addition to the money it says it is owed, Consumer Portfolio is seeking costs, attorney’s fees and other relief the court deems just.

Jeremiah B. Hayes of The McFarlin Firm in Dallas will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.

Case No. B193-178
