The Premcor Pipeline Co. and Valero Energy Corp. claim the Jefferson County Appraisal District has valued their property too high and, in turn, charged them too much in taxes.
The Premcor Pipeline Co. and Valero Energy Corp. filed a lawsuit Sept. 19 in Jefferson County District Court against Jefferson County Appraisal District.
The plaintiff alleges the Jefferson County Appraisal District has valued its property too high. In turn, the plaintiff is paying more in taxes on the property than it should, according to the complaint.
In its complaint, the Premcor Pipeline Co. and Valero Energy Corp. seeks an unspecified judgment, plus costs, attorney’s fees and other relief the court deems just. It also wants the court to fix the appraised value of its property and to order that the Jefferson County Appraisal District treat all property owners fairly.
