A Jefferson County man has failed to pay more than $2,000 worth of property taxes, according to recently filed court documents.

Hardin County filed a lawsuit Oct. 12 in Jefferson County District Court against William Thomas Beavers.

In its complaint, Hardin County alleges Beavers owes the county $2,563.39 for delinquent taxes due in 2011, the suit states. Beavers also owes $175 in a title research fee, according to the complaint.

Hardin seeks a foreclosure of the tax lien, plus a judgment for the delinquent taxes and other relief the court deems just.

Shelburne J. Veselka and Keith Treadway of McCreary, Veselka, Bragg and Allen in Round Rock will be representing him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. E193-345
