Foreman sues ExxonMobil after employee strikes him with work truck

Lufkin resident Jamie Bravo is suing ExxonMobil and one of its employees, Robert Brown, who allegedly Bravo with a truck.

The suit was filed Oct. 19 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on April 24 Bravo was working at the ExxonMobil Beaumont Complex as a foreman when Brown, who was driving an Exxon truck while in the course and scope of his employment, struck him.

“At the time of the accident … Brown was operating the vehicle in a negligent and careless manner,” the suit states, adding that he did not act prudently.

The suit further faults ExxonMobil under the legal theory respondeat superior.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Attorney Bradley O’Neill of the Houston law firm Forrest, Kolodny & O’Neill represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
