Orange resident Verona Wolfford has filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of Edward Wolfford, who allegedly suffers from an occupational lung disease.
Through Provost Umphrey attorney Keith Hyde, the petition was filed Oct. 23 in Jefferson County District Court. The anticipated defendant in the pending suit is Chevron and its subsidiaries.
According to the petition, Edward Wolfford was diagnosed with occupational related fibrogenic lung disease, which “is expected to progress” and prove fatal.
The petition does not say when he was diagnosed.
The petition seeks Edward Wolfford testimony concerning his employment and asbestos exposure.
The petition asks the court to authorize Edward Wolfford’s deposition.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
