A Warren resident is suing a Port Arthur company for an employee’s rear end collision.
Richard Winter filed suit against Sandifer L.P. Gas and Service Co. and Marquis Sandifer on Oct. 31 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on April 2 Winter was stopped at a traffic light at Savannah Avenue in Port Arthur when Sandifer, while in the course and scope of his employment, rear ended him with a vehicle owned by Sandifer Gas.
The suit accuses Sandifer of negligently failing to stop at a red light, apply his brakes in a timely manner, keep a proper lookout and yield the right of way.
Sandifer Gas is held liable under the legal doctrine respondent superior.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.
Attorney William Morian Jr. of the Jasper law firm Morian Kahla represents him.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
