A Beaumont man claims he sustained injuries after a driver struck his vehicle.

Francisco Rojo filed a lawsuit Nov. 9 in Jefferson County District Court against Kassie Sue Kolander and Lillian Kolander.

In his complaint, Rojo claims he drove west on W. Cardinal Drive in Beaumont on Jan. 20 when Kassie Sue Kolander failed to control her speed and struck his vehicle.

Because of the collision, Rojo suffered severe property damages and permanent injuries, incurred medical costs and experienced extreme physical pain, suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and physical impairment, according to the complaint.

Kassie Sue Kolander negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to control her speed and drove inattentively, the suit states.

Lillian Kolander is blamed for negligent entrustment.

In his complaint, Rojo seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.

James E. Payne and Ronnie Turner Jr. of Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
