Man on bicycle struck by motorist, suit alleges

Area resident Marshall Fairchild is suing Beaumont local Eisa Ahmad, who allegedly stuck him while out riding his bicycle.

The suit was filed Nov. 14 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 5 Fairchild was riding a bicycle on East Virginia in Beaumont when Ahmad failed to yield at a stop sign and stuck him as he attempted to cross an intersection.

The suit further accuses Ahmad of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes.

On top of actual damages, the plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and impairment.

Provost Umphrey attorney Larry Hunter of Beaumont represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
