Seeking to collect on several past due accounts, American Express Centurion Bank has filed suit against Beaumont local Barbara Williams.
The suit was filed Nov. 13 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, the parties entered into card member agreements. The balance owing on the accounts are $2,541.48, $4,639.38 and $2,941.84.
The suit does not state when the agreements were agreed upon.
“Defendant has failed to repay all of the advances made under the agreements,” the suit states, adding that the current balance owing for all accounts is $10,122.70
The suit says the lender has made demands for payment but Williams has refused to pay the balance owing.
American Express is suing for actual damages, interest, court costs and attorney’s fees.
Taylor attorney Joseph O’Bell of Zwicker & Associates represents the plaintiff.
