Seeking to recover more than $22,000 on a past due note, Compass Bank has filed suit against Scott C. Cook & Associates, a Beaumont property management company.
The suit was filed Nov. 15 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, the defendant executed a promissory note on June 9, 2008 and agreed to repay the loan.
“Defendants defaulted paying the promissory note, the account has been accelerated, and defendants now owe all amounts owing under the promissory note,” the suit states.
“The payoff balance due by defendants as of September 26, 2012, was the amount of $22,459.14.”
Compass is suing for actual damages, interest and attorney’s fees in the amount of $1,500.
Attorney Shawn Brady of the Frisco law firm Messer, Campbell & Brady represents the plaintiff.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
