Two Hardin County residents claim they sustained severe injuries after a driver struck two separate vehicles they were operating.

William A. Sticker and Rustee M. Sticker allege they were driving two different vehicles in the 10899 block of U.S. Highway 69/Eastex Freeway when defendant Leon Cade Langley struck Rustee M. Sticker’s vehicle, pushing it out of the way. Langley then proceeded to strike William A. Sticker’s vehicle, according to the complaint filed Dec. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

Because of the collision, the Stickers incurred medical costs, lost earnings and their earning capacities and experienced physical pain and mental anguish, the suit states. They also suffered physical impairment and physical disfigurement, the complaint says.

At the time of the accident, the Stickers had an insurance policy through defendant Government Employees Insurance Company. Because Langley’s insurance coverage is not adequate to pay for the Stickers’ damages, they are asking GEICO to pick up the remaining tab.

In addition, the Stickers are seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs, punitive and exemplary damages and other relief the court deems just.

Paul F. Ferguson Jr. of Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing them.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
