Seeking to collect on a delinquent credit card account, American Express Bank has filed suit against Gilbert T. Adams Jr. and Gilbert T. Adams, a professional corporation.

The suit was filed Jan. 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, the parties entered into a card member agreement, wherein cash advances were made to Adams' firm, making them bound to repay the debt.

The suit does not state when the parties entered into the agreement.

“Defendants have failed to repay all of the advances made under the agreement,” the suit states. “The current balance due … is $12,997.96.”

The plaintiff is suing for the balance due and all court costs.

Round Rock attorney Joseph O’Bell of Zwicker & Associates represents the plaintiff.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
