Residents sued over alleged failure to pay for property

Williams rick1

Two Jefferson County residents have filed suit against the people who they claim failed to pay for property sold to them.

Allan and Michelle Mitchell claim they agreed to sell their business and all of its items to defendants Stephanie C. Fore and Kerry A. Fore on April 30, 2010.

In turn, the Fores agreed to pay the Mitchells a down payment of $15,000, plus an additional $45,000, according to the complaint filed Jan. 23 in Jefferson County District Court.

However, the Fores have missed numerous payments, including those owed in August and December 2010; in January, August and December of 2011; and in February and March of 2012, the suit states. They have also failed to make payments since June 2012, the complaint says.

In addition to the money they claim they are owed, the Mitchells are seeking attorney’s fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.

They will be represented by Rick Williams of The Law Offices of Rick Williams in Nederland.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
