LVNV Funding seeks $9K from delinquent credit card account

LVNV Funding has filed a lawsuit against Beaumont local Edward Lee, alleging he refuses to pay a credit card balance of more than $9,000.

The suit was filed Feb. 6 in Jefferson County District Court and alleges the defendant was advanced dollar amounts on a credit card account.

Court records show that on Sept. 30 the plaintiff sent a letter to the defendant demanding payment in full of the account. However, no further payments have been made.

“As of Dec. 28, 2012, there continues to be owed … an unpaid balance of $9,184.67 and accrued interest of $756.41,” the suit states, adding that the defendant breached his contract.

LVNV Funding claims that it is entitled to recover the account balance and all court costs, including attorney’s fees.

Carrollton attorney Michael Scott represents the company.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
