Orange County resident Mary Bouley has filed suit against Oak Creek Homes, alleging the manufactured home she was sold has numerous defects.
The suit was filed Jan. 30 in Orange County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 16, 2010, Bouley purchased a manufactured home from Oak Creek in Vidor for $55,406.
“Plaintiff has had numerous problems with manufactured home,” the suit states, adding that the home’s defects include mold, water leaks, carpet, trim, HVAC system, flooring, septic system and cabinets.
“The manufactured home has been repaired at least 10 times by the manufacturer,” the suit states. “The manufactured home still has defects.”
The suit accuses the defendant of deceptive trade practices and breach of warranty.
The plaintiff is suing for the diminished value of the home, loss of use, cost of repair and out of pocket expenses, plus attorney’s fees.
