A final judgment has been entered in a suit brought by a Port Arthur city employee, who alleged a negligent rug placement at city hall caused her to trip and fall.
As previously reported, Rebecca Slagle filed suit against CCAP Inc., doing business as Sanserve Building Services, on Feb. 23, 2012, in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show a final judgment was entered on Jan. 23, stating that the parties compromised and settled the matter and that plaintiff take nothing from the defendant.
According to her lawsuit, on July 13, 2010, Slagle was working at Port Arthur City Hall when she “tripped and fell over a rug negligently placed by the door by defendant’s … employee.”
The suit does not state how the rug was negligently placed but does contend Slagle injured her right arm, elbow, hand and shoulder in the fall caused by the rugs placement.
Slagle was suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.
