Two Texas residents have filed suit against the defendants who they claim failed to repay the money they borrowed.
Carolyn B. and William Hancock claim they lent defendants Juan A. and Fior C. Ramos $150,300 on March 24, 2009.
By December, the Ramoses had failed to make their required monthly payments on the note, according to the complaint filed April 3 in Jefferson County District Court.
In turn, the Hancocks demanded the money from the Ramoses, but they have failed to make the promised payments, the suit states.
“After accounting for all lawful offsets, payments and credits, a net unpaid payable balance of $168,628.93 as of November 24, 2012, is due from defendants to plaintiffs on the note, along with earned interest and late fees, for which plaintiffs now sue,” the complaint says.
In addition to the money they claim they are owed, the Hancocks seek costs, attorney’s fees of at least $3,000, foreclosure on a lien and other relief the court deems just.
They will be represented by James W. King of Offerman & King in Beaumont.
