Beaumont resident Louvenia Harding is suing her insurer, American Mercury Lloyds Insurance, for underinsured motorist benefits following an automobile collision that occurred nearly two years ago.
The suit was filed May 13 in Jefferson County District Court. Blake Guidry was also named as a defendant.
According to the lawsuit, on June 9, 2011, Harding was traveling south on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when Guidry rear-ended her.
Harding required medical attention following the collision and made a timely claim for underinsured benefits.
The suit further accuses Guidry of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to control his speed.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.
Beaumont attorney Ryan Scott represents her.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.
