Upon entering the Beaumont Wal-Mart, a store employee, who was “horse-playing” with another employee, allegedly rolled a stock cart over Felicia Williams’ foot two years ago.
Williams filed suit against the mega-retailer on June 6 in Jefferson County District Court, seeking an award of exemplary damages.
According to the lawsuit, on June 13, 2011, Williams entered the Wal-Mart to shop when an employee, “who was horse-playing with another … employee,” rolled a cart over her left foot.
The suit maintains Wal-Mart owed Williams a duty to keep employees from handling equipment in an unsafe manner.
The plaintiff is also suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.
Houston attorney Nicolette Westbrooks represents her.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.
