The National Collegiate Student Loan Trust has filed suit against the Beaumont man it claims failed to repay his student loans.
According to the complaint filed Dec. 6 in Jefferson County District Court, National Collegiate Student Loan Trust claims it loaned money to defendant Randal Roland which he was supposed to repay in a series of payments beginning after a deferral period.
However, the Trust claims it has received none of the money from Roland, despite its written requests.
“As of Oct. 30, 2013, there continues to be owed by defendant to the plaintiff an unpaid balance of 42,011.34, plus accrued and unpaid interest of $4,499.44,” the suit states.
The student loan trust alleges breach of contract against Roland.
In addition to actual damages, the trust is seeking pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, costs, post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.
Attorney Michael J. Scott of Carrollton represents the plaintiff.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.
