R&S Tank Service has filed suit against Melvin Walker and his business, MRW Investments, alleging a check for services rendered bounced.
The suit was filed Dec. 5 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, in January 2013 R&S entered into a contract with Walker for delivery and installation of fuel dispensers.
R&S completed the project in March and was issued a check by Walker, which was returned due to lack of funds.
“To date, Walker has failed to issue payment for the installation work done by R&S,” the suit states, adding that the defendants committed fraud.
R&S is suing for actual and punitive damages, plus attorney’s fees and court costs.
The company is represented by Stacie Augustine, attorney for the Beaumont law firm Strong Pipkin Bissell & Ledyard.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
