Woman alleges Triangle Therapeutics subjected her to inappropriate therapy

Seeking $1 million in damages, Catherine Bertrand has filed suit against Triangle Therapeutics, alleging the company subjected her to inappropriate therapy three years ago.

The suit was filed Dec. 19 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 14, 2011, Bertrand, 84, was subjected to inappropriate therapy for her pre-existing condition of degenerative spinal arthritis, causing her to suffer compression fractures at T8, T9 and T10.

The suit alleges Triangle Therapeutics fell below the standard of care in her treatment.

Bertrand claims she has been impaired, disfigured and disabled because of the defendant’s negligence.

On top of exemplary damages, she is suing for her mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

Beaumont attorney Kenneth Lewis of Bush Lewis represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
