Rear end collision on I-45 results in lawsuit

A man is suing after sustaining injury in a car collision.

Alvin Williams filed a lawsuit Jan. 27 in Galveston County 56th District Court against Travis Lynn Thompson, John P. Hearn, Texas City Standard Auto Parts Inc. and Standard Automotive Warehouse Inc., citing negligence, respondeat superior and negligent entrustment.

The complaint alleges on June 19, 2012, Williams was preparing to enter Interstate Highway 45 when Thompson struck the rear-end of the plaintiff's vehicle.

Thompson was acting within the course of his employment with Texas City Standard Auto Parts and Standard Automotive Warehouse at the time of the accident, according to the complaint. The plaintiff states, at the time of the accident, Thompson was driving a vehicle owned by Hearn.

Williams is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

He is being represented in the case by attorneys Thomas F. Bickham Jr. and Kraig L. Rushing of Bickham Law.
