A woman is suing a Beaumont body shop, claiming she was fired for complaining about her manager's sexual comments.
Saundra Burks filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas Beaumont Division on Feb. 4, against 5390Tune Inc., doing business as Precision Tune Auto Care No. 22-08.
Burks says she started working at Precision in April 2012 and claims that from July 2012 and throughout her employment she was sexually harassed by her manager.
Burks claims she told the owners of her manager's offensive conduct, but they did nothing, according to the suit.
Specifically, Burks alleges her manager and other workers would discuss female customer's body parts in front of her.
Burks was fired in November 2012, which she alleges was in retaliation for her complaints.
Burks says the sexual harassment interfered with her work performance and and amounts to gender discrimination. She is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
She is being represented by attorney Kenneth W. Lewis.
